Verify Votes
Use confirmation codes to verify recorded votes and see when they were submitted.
Pepvote lets voters and voting event teams verify submitted votes with a confirmation code.
How vote verification works
After a voter submits votes, Pepvote generates a confirmation code for that submission.
That confirmation code can be used on the Confirm Votes page to check:
- The recorded positions and selected candidates
- The total number of votes in that submission
- The date and time the votes were submitted
What the voter needs
On the public confirmation page, the voter enters:
- The voting event code
- The confirmation code
If the confirmation code is entered without the CC prefix, Pepvote still formats it correctly before checking the record.
What appears after verification
When the confirmation code matches a stored submission, Pepvote shows the confirmed vote entries as:
- Position = selected candidate
- Submitted date and time
This helps the voter confirm that the recorded submission matches what was cast.
Verify votes inside the dashboard
Voting event teams can also open Confirm Votes from the voting event dashboard and verify a submission by confirmation code without asking the voter to repeat the full voting process.
This is useful for support, audits, and post-voting-event checks.
