Recount Votes

Rebuild vote totals when you need to refresh result statistics.

Pepvote includes a Recount Votes action in the voting event dashboard to queue a fresh recount of vote statistics for that voting event.

Where to find it

You can trigger Recount Votes from either of these places:

  • The Result page action buttons
  • The Votes table toolbar

What happens when you recount

When you click Recount Votes, Pepvote queues a vote stats backfill job for the current voting event.

This is useful when you want to refresh the result totals shown in the dashboard after changes or when you need to confirm that the current counts match the stored vote records.

What to expect after clicking

  • The button changes to Recounting... while the request is being sent
  • Pepvote shows a success message when the recount job has been queued
  • The recount updates voting statistics in the background

Good practice

If you are reviewing an ended voting event, use the Votes table together with Recount Votes:

  • Recount to refresh the totals
  • Search votes by confirmation code when you need to inspect a specific submission
  • Compare the votes table with the result breakdown for audit checks
