Voting Event roles overview

Understand each role in Pepvote and how they help run voting events.

Pepvote supports these voting event roles:

  • Owner
  • Voting Event Manager
  • Polling Officer
  • Observer
  • Candidate
  • Voter

Owner

The account that created the voting event.

Typical capabilities:

  • Full management access
  • Can delete voting event
  • Can manage settings, components, and invites

Voting Event Manager

Trusted operations role.

Typical capabilities:

  • Manage voting event setup and components
  • Manage voting event invites
  • Access results and vote-related views
  • Cannot delete voting event

Polling Officer

Operational support role.

Typical capabilities:

  • Manage voting event components (positions, groups, candidates, voters)
  • Does not manage invite permissions for voting event team roles

Observer

Read-focused monitoring role.

Typical capabilities:

  • Track voting event progress and result views
  • No setup/edit access

Candidate and Voter

Participant roles.

Typical capabilities:

  • Candidate: can participate and view relevant voting event information
  • Voter: can cast votes (if approved and not already voted), and confirm votes
